THE FILM

Minero is a documentary set inside the mines of Potosí, Bolivia, a city built on silver, faith, and loss. The film follows three miners at different stages of their lives, one just beginning with plans to leave, one in his prime stuck there as a result of no better option, and one nearing the end of his time in the mine, a place he lived his life and is prepared die. Each are shaped by the same mountain that has sustained and consumed generations before them. Deep inside, where the air is thick and daylight cannot reach, they make daily offerings to the devil for protection and their daily bread.

Filmed entirely on site at the mines of Cerro Rico, over the course of a month. Minero looks at the thin line between devotion and survival, at the weight of tradition, and the quiet dignity of men who keep going when there is no other way forward.

TIMING

Minero is currently in post-production.

The film is expected to be completed in 2026, with festival submissions planned for 2027 season. The film will have a run time of around an hour. A limited theatrical release may follow.
